Notifications and alerts

Tradeit’s Notifications and Alerts system keeps you updated on critical store activities—such as new orders, messages from customers, return requests, low stock alerts, and platform announcements. Staying on top of these notifications ensures you respond quickly and run a successful online business.


📍 Where to Find Notifications

To view your notifications:

  1. Log in at https://tradeit.co.zw
  2. Go to your Vendor Dashboard
  3. Click on the 🔔 bell icon (top-right corner) or navigate to Dashboard > Notifications

You’ll see a chronological list of alerts including:

  • New order alerts
  • Message alerts
  • Product approval or rejection
  • Platform updates or announcements
  • Low stock alerts
  • Return requests
  • Subscription notices

🛍️ Types of Vendor Notifications

🔄 Real-Time Alerts

Tradeit’s notifications appear in real time on your dashboard. When a new alert is received:

  • A red dot appears on the bell icon
  • A sound alert may play (on desktop)
  • Clicking the bell opens the list of latest notifications

📧 Email Notifications

You also receive email copies of important alerts:

  • New orders
  • Return requests
  • Account-related messages (verification, warnings, suspensions)
  • Replies to support tickets

Make sure your email address is correct:
Go to Dashboard > Settings > Account Info and confirm your contact email.

Tip: If you’re not receiving Tradeit emails, check your Spam/Junk folder and whitelist Tradeit’s email domain (e.g. *@tradeit.co.zw).


🛠️ Managing Notification Settings

You can choose which types of alerts you want to receive:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Notifications
  2. Enable or disable specific types:
    • Order alerts
    • Product status updates
    • Customer messages
    • Return & refund notices
    • Low stock alerts
    • Promotional announcements

Example: If you manage your stock manually and don’t need low stock alerts, you can turn those off.


📱 Tips for Staying Alert on Mobile

Many Tradeit vendors in Zimbabwe run their shops using mobile devices. Here’s how to stay responsive:

  • Bookmark the dashboard on your mobile browser
  • Enable browser notifications (if supported)
  • Check your email frequently
  • Keep your WhatsApp Business connected for customer support (if integrated)

📊 Viewing Past Notifications

Want to check a past alert?

  1. Go to Dashboard > Notifications
  2. Use the Filter options:
    • By Date
    • By Type (Orders, Messages, Admin, etc.)
  3. Click on any notification to view full details

🔁 Sample Scenario: How Notifications Help

You sell handmade clay pots.
At 8:12am, you receive an alert:
🛎️ “Order #5673 placed for 2x ‘Clay Pot – Large’”

You:

  • Open the order details
  • Mark it as “Processing”
  • Prepare for pickup
  • Add tracking info
  • Buyer is notified automatically

At 9:45am, you receive:
📩 “Buyer messaged: Can you deliver by Thursday?”
You respond quickly through the Order Notes.

At 4:00pm:
⚠️ “Low stock: Only 1 Clay Pot – Medium remaining”
You decide to restock before the weekend rush.

  • Keep your email address updated
