Managing inventory

How to Manage Inventory in Your Tradeit Store #

  1. Log In to Your Seller Account
  2. Go to the Products Section
    • From the seller dashboard, click on Products. You will see a list of all the products you have listed on Tradeit.
  3. Update Stock Levels
    • For each product, you can manually adjust the stock quantity:
      • Edit an Existing Product: Click the Edit button next to the product for which you want to update the inventory.
      • Stock Quantity Field: Scroll to the inventory section and update the available stock. For instance, if you’ve received new inventory, you can increase the number in this field.
  4. Enable Stock Management
    • If you want Tradeit to automatically manage your stock levels, make sure the Manage Stock option is enabled. This feature will:
      • Automatically deduct stock when an order is placed.
      • Show a product as “Out of Stock” if the quantity reaches zero.
  5. Set Stock Threshold Alerts
    • You can set a low stock threshold, which will alert you when stock is running low. This is useful to ensure you restock in time and avoid running out of popular products.
  6. Manage Product Variations
    • If your product has different variations (like sizes, colors, etc.), you can manage stock levels for each variation separately.
      • Go to the Variations tab under the product listing.
      • For each variation, set the available stock quantity.
  7. Out of Stock Products
    • When a product is out of stock, you can choose to either:
      • Temporarily deactivate the listing: Hide the product from your store until it’s back in stock.
      • Display as “Out of Stock”: Let customers know the item is currently unavailable but might be restocked soon.
  8. Bulk Stock Management
    • If you have many products, Tradeit allows bulk editing to manage inventory more efficiently:
      • In the Products section, select multiple products and choose the Bulk Edit option.
      • Update stock quantities for all selected products at once.
  9. Track Inventory Through SKU
    • Assign a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) for each product. The SKU helps you:
      • Track the product in your inventory system.
      • Easily locate the product when restocking or updating.
  10. Monitor Stock Reports
    • In the seller dashboard, you can view inventory reports that give you an overview of:
      • Current stock levels.
      • Products that are low in stock or out of stock.
      • Historical data on stock movements (how much stock has been sold, replenished, etc.).

Best Practices for Inventory Management #

  • Regularly Update Inventory: Make it a habit to update your stock levels frequently, especially after restocking or running promotions.
  • Use SKUs: Assign unique SKUs to each product for better tracking and organization.
  • Low Stock Alerts: Set threshold alerts to get notified when stock levels fall below a certain number.
  • Plan for Busy Seasons: Stock up before peak seasons or sales events to avoid running out during high-demand periods.

Proper inventory management helps prevent issues like overselling, improves customer satisfaction, and ensures smooth order fulfillment on your Tradeit store.
