Followers

The Followers menu helps you build customer loyalty, grow a regular customer base, and stay connected with shoppers who are interested in your products.

When a customer clicks “Follow” on your storefront, they become your follower — just like on social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram. This means they’ll be notified when you:

  • Add new products
  • Post store updates
  • Launch a promotion or sale

Whether you sell homeware in Bulawayo or herbal medicines in Rusape, engaging with your followers can help you increase repeat sales and boost visibility on Tradeit.

📍 How to Find the Followers Menu

  1. Log in to your vendor account at https://tradeit.co.zw.
  2. On the left-hand menu of your Vendor Dashboard, click Followers.

You’ll see a list of all the customers who have followed your store.

📊 What You See in the Followers Menu

The Followers page displays:

ColumnWhat It Shows
👤 Customer NameThe username or display name of your follower
📧 Email AddressThe follower’s contact email (if available)
📅 Followed DateThe date they started following your store

This list gives you a good idea of:

  • Which customers are interested in your store
  • When you’re gaining (or losing) attention
  • Whether your new product uploads are attracting followers

💡 What You Can Do with Followers

1. Build Engagement

Your followers will be notified (depending on their notification settings) when you:

  • Upload new products
  • Add blog updates or announcements (if enabled)
  • Run a storewide sale

This encourages repeat visits and higher order value.

Example: A vendor in Karoi who sells seasonal gardening tools can post updates about seedling availability, and followers will be notified — boosting early sales.

2. Encourage Customer Loyalty

Having followers means you’re building a trusted brand on Tradeit. Followers are more likely to:

  • Return to your store
  • Recommend it to others
  • Purchase again during sales or promotions

3. Use Follower Growth as a Performance Metric

If your follower count is increasing:

  • Your listings and store branding are likely effective.
  • You’re building a positive reputation.

If it’s declining or flat:

  • You may need to refresh your products or marketing (e.g., try using the Advertising feature or updating your product images).

  • Followers do not see your personal contact information.
  • You cannot remove followers — but you can manage your content and store to influence their continued interest.

🛠 Troubleshooting

No. It’s common for new vendors to start with zero followers. Upload high-quality products, join promotions, and update your store to attract them.

Q: Can I run a campaign to ask users to follow me?
Yes! You can:

  • Add banners to your store encouraging people to follow.
  • Include “Follow us for updates” in your product descriptions.
  • Share your Tradeit store URL on social media or WhatsApp groups and invite followers.
