Receiving payments

One of the biggest advantages of selling on Tradeit is the automated payment system — you don’t need to chase customers for money. When a customer places and pays for an order, Tradeit collects the funds on your behalf and then pays you after order completion.

This guide explains how you, as a vendor, receive your payments, how to set up your payment methods, how long payouts take, and how to view your transaction history.


🏦 How Payments Work on Tradeit

Here’s a step-by-step summary of how the payment system works for every order:

  1. Customer places an order and pays online (e.g. EcoCash, ZIPIT, USD, bank transfer).
  2. The payment is received by Tradeit and recorded in your dashboard.
  3. You process and deliver the order to the customer.
  4. Once the order is marked as “Completed”, the system clears the payment for payout.
  5. Your commission is deducted automatically.
  6. The remaining balance is transferred to your selected payout method.

💡 Important: Vendors only get paid for completed orders. Tradeit holds the payment until order completion to protect both the buyer and seller.


💰 Payment Methods Available to Vendors

Tradeit supports multiple local payment channels for vendor payouts in Zimbabwe:

⚙️ Setting Up Your Payment Details

To receive payments, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Vendor Dashboard
    https://tradeit.co.zw/dashboard
  2. Go to SettingsPayment
  3. Select your preferred payout method:
    • For EcoCash: Enter your Merchant Code (not personal number)
    • For ZIPIT: Provide Account Name, Bank, Branch, and Account Number
    • For Bank Transfer: Include full banking details including SWIFT Code for USD
  4. Click Save Settings

Your payment details must be accurate to avoid delays.


🕒 How Often Will I Get Paid?

Vendor payouts are done within 3 working days after the order is marked Completed.

💡 Example:
If a customer buys your product on Monday and you deliver it by Tuesday, once you mark the order as “Completed,” your funds will be processed between Wednesday and Friday.


📊 Viewing Payment History and Balances

To track your earnings:

  1. Go to DashboardWithdrawals
    • View pending, processed, and past payouts.
  2. Check your current balance and withdrawable funds.
  3. For full history, go to ReportsStatements
    • Download transaction summaries
    • View commission deductions
    • Export monthly ZIMRA-ready invoices

💸 How to Request a Withdrawal (if manual withdrawals are enabled)

If your account is set to manual withdrawals (rare, but possible), here’s how to request:

  1. Go to DashboardWithdrawals
  2. Click Request Withdrawal
  3. Enter the amount (up to your available balance)
  4. Confirm payout method and click Submit

Note: Some vendor accounts have auto-withdrawals enabled — in that case, payouts are scheduled automatically.


💼 Commission Deduction Example

Tradeit charges a commission on each sale (see Seller Policies and Fees). Here’s a localised example:

  • You sell a pair of leather shoes for ZWL$120,000.
  • Product category is Fashion, with 12% commission.
  • Commission = ZWL$14,400
  • You receive ZWL$105,600 (excluding any bank transfer fees)

🧾 Currency Considerations

Tradeit supports both ZWL and USD pricing, depending on your settings.

  • If your products are listed in USD, Tradeit will pay out in USD (cash or nostro).
  • If your store uses ZWL, you’ll receive payments via EcoCash, ZIPIT, or local bank transfer.

  • ✅ Make sure all bank/EcoCash details are accurate and up to date
  • ✅ Deliver promptly and mark orders “Completed” after fulfillment
  • ✅ Respond to buyer disputes quickly to avoid payout delays
  • ✅ Use Reports → Statements for monthly financial summaries
  • ✅ Always provide working contact details in your store settings

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I receive USD if my product is listed in ZWL?

A: No. You’ll be paid in the same currency as the product pricing. If you want to switch to USD, update your product prices accordingly.


Q: I delivered the product — why haven’t I been paid?

A: Orders must be marked as Completed to trigger payouts. Go to Orders, open the relevant one, and update its status.


Q: Can I use my personal EcoCash wallet?

A: No. You must use a registered Merchant EcoCash wallet to receive Tradeit payouts via EcoCash.


Q: Is there a fee for withdrawals?

A: Tradeit doesn’t charge a separate withdrawal fee, but your bank or mobile money provider may apply transaction charges.
